My name is Judith Miller. For the last 30 years I have been working in Australia as a counsellor and an educator in Aboriginal, non-Aboriginal and refugee contexts and as a practicing artist.
I have a private practice in Wollongbar where I am working with adults, young people and couples. I am also available to facilitate expressive arts therapy workshops in Wollongbar or in your community.
I see life as an ongoing process of learning, the fundamental task being learning to live well with ourselves, with others and with the world. In my practice, I seek to help clients identify the attitudes and actions that will enable them to be the person, the partner or the parent they want to be. Confronting personal issues and exploring new possibilities can be challenging so it is important to me that I provide a safe space in which trust and understanding can develop.
Counselling is a collaborative process. While I draw on a range of different therapeutic approaches, the direction I take is determined by the particular needs and inclinations of the client. Similarly, I develop programs for expressive arts therapy workshops in accordance with the needs of the participants.
I believe in change and take delight in assisting people to discover their potential, find freedom from unproductive attitudes and behaviour patterns and explore new empowering ways of being in accordance with their own values and aspirations.
